Update on job

Well I start Monday. My schedule as of now will be 4-10hr days. So that means I will get 3 days off a week. Problem is they are not consecutive. Well I guess that might not be a problem. Work 2 days get a day off, repeat. At least I get to use my steel toe boots that I only used for 3 weeks last year.

What have I got myself in to now?

Today I finally broke down and applied at a local warehouse as an order selector. I had an on the spot interview as soon as I was done with the application. They want me to come back for a few tests tomorrow: lift, step, vision and drug. I don't think they would go to the trouble if I was not gonna get it. So I think starting Monday I have a job.

What sucks is that I had similar jobs at the temp agency, but I had the option of walking away. Now I am a real employee and have to dredge though the laborious work schedule. I'll pretend it is a free gym. That might help me get through the day.

Composite personality

Perhaps I watch too much TV these days, but who can say for sure. Lately I have seen aspects of myself in characters in various programs on throughout the day. I appear to be Xander Harris + Eric Foreman + George Costanza. No more one than any other but I seem to fit into either one of them.

Green Fairy

While walking through the local wine shoppe recently, a friend and me came across a box with the following image. Neither of us knew what it was until further inspection. I'll say this, either for my b-day or when I get a job, whatever comes first I am buying a bottle. It's $40, that is why the wait.

We opted for a bottle of rum instead and after that parts of the night get really foggy. I so needed that.

Dane Cook

Dane Cook is slowly becoming my favorite comic of right now. From his parody of Tom Cruise on the Jimmy Kimmel show to his stand up on Comedy Central he is a very funny guy. He recently released a new comedy CD/DVD set that I will most definately have to check out. Ever since Mitch Hedberg passed away, I have had a void that needs filling by some funny guy (Yeah I knew that sounded gay when I typed it). Dane can never replace Mitch but he can make me laugh just as much, like in the following picture.

Squid in Ink

This is what I drew last night at 3am because I could not fall asleep. Why is it that I get inspired to draw at times when I could be sleeping. It happens all the time. Countless times have I had to abandon ideas because I knew indulgence would only extend the sleeplessness of the night.

What Type of Soul Do You Have?

You are naturally born with a gift, whether it be
poetry, writing or song. You love beauty and
creativity, and usually are highly intelligent.
Others view you as mysterious and dreamy, yet
also bold since you hold firm in your beliefs.

umm...dreamy?

Laying Floorboards day 3

So this was the third day of installation of the new hardwood floor with my dad. A lot more progress was made than yesterday. There is one row of boards left to put in but that will take some finessing so it will be done tomorrow. Even when that is done, everything that was moved has to be put back in place where is was. That means lots of heavy lifting. oh joy.

I joked with my parents that I am working for food these days and they replied with "And you don't even need a sign. HAHA"

While doing this particular remodeling project, I realized that the kitchen is the only room in the house that had not had some form of new skin applied to it over the 20+ years that I have lived here. But I know it will come up with in a year or two, I just know it. Also I find it weird to look at a room and see that some feature has changed that had just never occurred to me every would.

And lastly, does it look to anyone else that I have emerged out of my dad's ass?

Does this look infected?

Board

My dad decided to be funny and wake me up at 9 am with that comment "You're working first shift today." haha very funnny, it's saturday and i wanna sleep in more than usual. The movtivation to actually get up came in the form of a prepared breakfast awaiting me from my mom.

The whole reason to get me up was so that I could help move things out of the living room and dining room in order to help install hardwood floors. So from about 1030am to 9pm with a few breaks that is all I did today. With more to finish tomorrow.

My niece wanted to help but she really can't so she found a pair of safety goggles and wore them periodically throughout the day. And seeing as how she had control of the only TV in the area, I was tortured with NICK TOONS and Disney channel shows I did not want to see.

Artwork from my niece

With my prompting she managed to give us both bodies opposed to the usual stick legs that come right out of the head. I look like a sad clown and I believe the thing coming out of my head is supposed to me pony tail. Regardless she but much effort into it and I have hug it up in my room to show my approval and perhaps inspire her to do more so that I can post them.

Car Wash

Yesterday my to my dismay I was told to wash my mom's car. I grumbled the whole time til I got started. After that the laughing did not stop. See I don't know if any of you have had the oppurtunity to wash cars with a 5 yr old.

I got the first car all soapy while my niece found shoes to wear to help me. Her first pick were pink snow boots that light up when you walk. I could not look at her I was laughing so hard. My mom was equally amused. Oh yeah have I mentioned yet that my mom just pulled up a chair and watched me wash the cars, no help on her part. Eventually my niece found an acceptable part of shoes and processed to play with the hose. I was smart enough to no turn the water on til I was ready but after that all bets were off. She sprayed me, the other cars, herself in the face a few times and the ground, little got on the car we were working on. Then she would run a streak of bubbles down the side of the car, line a racing stripe. She would then need the hose to wash off her hands and the soap from the car.

After about 20 minutes we finished the first car and my niece was completely soaked and I was just beyond the verge of half soaked. We then proceeded to wash my car since all the shit was out to a do car washin. Yeah my car needed it. It was the first time I think I have washed it since I got it in September.

This went a little fast seeing as how it is a smaller vehicle. This also lead to the completion of my transformation into hurricane victim. Somehow my niece managed to get in the dirt everytime she just got finished cleaning her feet off. At this point she decied to start singing "Workin at the Car Wash...". Again laughter ensured.

As we were working my mom made the comment that the job I had done on her car was not a very good one. There are reasons for this. 1)I did not want to wash your stupid car. 2)My plan was to do a shitty job so that in the future you do not ask me to do it again. and 3)Somehow everything I do is not good enough for my mom, no matter how hard I try it could be done better in her opinion. I think I have a complex because of how long she has been like that.

This caused her to get out of her chair and fix it herself. I replied with that is that way I wash cars so that is what she gets.

So when it was all over both me and my niece were soaking wet. My mom told me that someday I would make a good dad since I did not loose my temper with Kaylen. She told me sister a few hours later that I had the heart of a saint. Nice words about me and my working along side Kaylen, but nothing about the actual washing of cars.

"Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

I believe I can see the future
As I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
But then again
That might have been a dream
I think I used to have a voice
Now i never make a sound
I just do what I've been told
I really don't want them to come around again

Oh, no

[Chorus]
Everyday is exactly the same
Everyday is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Everyday is exactly the same

I can feel thier eyes are watching
In case I loose myself again
Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yet I still pretend
I can't remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end

[Chorus]

I'm writing on a little piece of paper
I'm hoping someday you might find
I'll hide it behind something
They won't look behind
I am still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don't know- I don't know what else I can do!

[Chorus]

Movies my parents rented

My parents have never been great at picking movies to rent. The rarely do it but when they do it takes them a while to find ones they like. I still can't comprehend why they rented Hauunted Mansion last time. Any way this round goes as follows:

1) Hitch - formulaic romantic comedy with very few moments to comedy worth laughing out loud about. Very forgetable.

2) National Treasure - very reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code, hiding clues to a hidden treasure in obvious sight to everyone. Also very much like Tomb Raider with a male lead, so much to the fact that Jon Voight played the father of the main character as well as Lara Croft. And does the act that played Boromir play anything else besides bad guys, other examples being LotR:FotR and Goldeneye. OK I guess but not something that needs to be seen. The blonde is nice to look at though.

3) White Noise - thriller about EVP. the jumpy parts are forced with the sudden loud sound or the flash of someone on the screen that the main character is watching. I keep zoning out so I may have missed somethings but it seemed kind of jumpy in the plot and short on reason they went to some locations. Reminded me of The Ring. not really worth seeing, I figured out the fate of the main character about 25 mins into the movie. it's nice to see that Michael Keaton is still getting work.

After watching all of these, my mom made the suggestion of sending me for movies next time. I'm not sure how they would take low budget zombie films. They might like Office Space though.

Kelly and Chris

While on vacation they were both feeling tired and decided to take a nap. For some reason this is how they chose to do it.

Also noteworthy is that being sleepy and drinking 2 rolling rocks caused Chris to doze off between strokes while we were playing Mario Golf before their nap. He hit the ball and managed to fall asleep before the screen went through the motions to set him up for his next shot.
