Reasons I can't sleep

Lately I have not been very motivated to get up in the morning, what am I saying I don't get up until 2 pm some days. I usually need some objective to accomplish that gets me going. But for the past 3 weeks or so I just lay there and ponder what activity or string of tasks will get me up today. It has gotten to the point where urination can be held off until I actually get moving. I'm sorry but at 2 or 3 in the afternoon a shower has become optional if plans for later are not established.

Another problem is that I stay up way too late, 3am sometimes 4. There is no real reason but I like to think that there is. The one reason could be that I don't do very much during the day to expend energy. Another is that I believe that I have not been fulfilled by the events that transpired and this causes me to stare vacantly the tv late at night hoping to catch the glimpse of something that made the day worth it. Infomercials do not hold the answers to anything meaningful nor do late night repeats of American Chopper.

My mom is home until at least the middle of June. So I think, psychologially, that in order to get away from her I have unconsciously tried to put myself on a different sleep cycle in order to shorten the length of time that we both occupy awake. Everyday I get to wake up to the daily comparison of abdominal surgery marks.

There are only a few things that I know that can actually get me to sleep with out much lagging. One would be the company of a good woman, which has not happen in a long time. The other would be a long night of drinking, which again has not occurred in some time.

I don;t know if I need help sleeping or just something to do during the day. Yeah I know that the latter will help the former, but inversely the former does not necessarily help the latter. Maybe if I dive head long into some art project, that could help out some.

Observations of Episode III

-So the Emperor and Vader oversee the construction of the DeathStar, does this mean that is takes close to 20 years to make one? I mean they built one better quick between ep.4 and ep.6

-Who was put on paint duty to either repaint/remove the color from the star destroyers and the stormtrooper armor?

-Where was General Grievous going in his wonder wheel?

-I guess the only real way to kill space Dracula is to cut his head off.

-Who decided what weapons and vehicles would go to what side in the Empire-Rebel conflict?

-Were the Jedi not informed of all the training and mental programming the clone troopers had received?

-I don't care what others say, I saw the Millenium Falcon.

-Yoda must have misplaced his hoverchair. Either that or one of the other Jedis took it for a spin and broke it and no one is sayin nothin.

Possible ideas for a drinking game:

-Obi-Wan strokes his beard
-A body part get severed
-Padme in a new outfit
-R2D2 screams
-use of particular screen wipes
-mention of the Chosen One
-the title of Darth is used to refer to someone
-member of the Jedi council dies
-good ole reliable - promotion/demotion

Good bye organ, I hardly knew ye

I had to be up bright and early to be at the hospital by 6am. This kind of sucked since I had little to no sleep that night, not sure why it was just not happening. So being up that early was not a problem.
My dad and I arrived at the Harrisburg Hospital at 545am and I was checking in shortly after that. They took us into one of their staging areas in order to prepare for the procedure. I had to remove my clothes and put on a stupid gown that let the world see my ass. The thing was I had to do this in front of my dad, so I had to maneuver in such a way that I did not flash my dad my wang. At 23 I am not comfortable exposing my hairy nude self to either of my parents. After that a nurse came and reconfirmed my ID and what I was there for. There were various other questions asked of me while blood was taken out of one arm and an IV put in the other. When all this prep work was done, it was only 645am. The nurse informed me that now I had to wait until 8am for my operation.
That was the slowest hour and 15 minutes ever. I did not have my contacts in so everything was a little hazy. I could see nurses and doctors walking around talking to other patients while the time crawled by. At one point my dad asked me if any of the doctor’s were mine. To this I replied that I can only see general shapes of people so I have no idea if he was there yet. He eventually did get there and told me that I was the first on the list so I would get underway at 8am.
Thank god some nurse asked if I had to pee before the operation, otherwise I would have had to get a catheter. They escorted my dad back to the waiting room and wheeled me off to the OR. There they strapped these pads on my legs to prevent blood clots. They were like blood pressure straps that would automatically inflate and deflate. They also untied my barely there gown and moved me to the table. I had to lay my arms out like I was being crucified. I wonder if anyone made and Jesus jokes at my expense. First I felt swimmy and then they had me start counting. 1….2…3… and I was gone.
I woke up with pain and oxygen in my nose. I was in recovery for about an hour. I was sleepy so I kept setting off the respiratory alarm because I was not breathing deep enough. The nurse had to keep coming over to tell me to breathe deeper. I also developed a cough which sucked because that area hurt already so muscle contraction in my abdominal area was not fun. I was coughing so much that the nurse asked me if I was a smoker.
After that I was moved onto Dismissal where I was until about 130pm. This is where my dad was able to come back and sit with me until I was well enough to walk under my own power. I got a drink of soda and that helped my cough immensely. I was also introduced to my new friend Percocet. After about and hour of laying there and the pain only mildly subsiding I decided it was time to leave so I tried to get up to which a nurse saw and came to assist me. We walked to the nurse’s desk and back to my bed. That was enough for her and she filled out the discharge papers while my dad went to get the car. Before he left again I had to play dodge the wang again while I got dressed. They wheeled me out to him waiting in the car and I came home.
I have been taking pain meds and naps ever since. Eventually I will get to see Star Wars. I think by this weekend I should be able to sit in a seat for more that 2hrs.

It was not until I got home did I notice that I had been shaved.

WTF

for shits and giggles i was looking at the MU website, and decided to check my email to see if it was still there. now i was told somewhere that a year after graduation that the account could be taken away. well here it is 2 years later and what do i find. my account still active. my password expired long ago but that was easily rectified. and i discovered 4000 messages sitting in my inbox. what the hell is that! how big is that box? it's all spam from what i saw, so there is not real need for me to look at it but still WTF?!?!

my life as hermit

recently my mom came home for surgery and my dad has had 2 consectutive weeks off work. for any of you that know me, this is not fun for me. it's like groundhog day for me for 2 weeks. everyday seems like the weekend. i think subconciously i sleep in later and later so as to cut down on the hours we share together awake. i spend a lot of the hours in my room watching tv and putzing on my computer. and i have start playing the dastardly game known as Snood again. anything to be alone.

i attempted to meet up with PJgirl but she unfortunately is spending the rest of the week in Chicago because that is where is is going to school in the fall.

i have other friends i could contact, but i don't know i feel inadequate as a person. living at home with no job, while everyone else seems to out on their own. quite depressing at times.

to add to this my summer class was cancelled due to low enrollment. those bastards. i really needed that class to put on my resume. now i don't even have that to look forward to. mother fucker. maybe i will take a class or 2 in the Fall. a factor in that is the source of funds but a reason i would want to go there is so that i could find a girl whose last name is Morgan and see how much her hatred for me has grown.

and my is it that my niece's room is like twice the size of mine when she only lives here on weekends?

unnecessary sequels

Cheaper by the Dozen 2
Dick Tracy 2
Mrs. Doubtfire 2
Final Destination 3
Transporter 2
Dark Crystal 2

Those last 2 are the only one that even spark any amount of interest, even though they are totally unneeded.

new anime

Toonami and [adult swim] have start showing a few new animes recently. Such as:
1)Zatch Bell - basically little people that look like dolls perform spells read from a book by their companion in fights to determine a new king.

This show is watchable but there is no flow from episode to episode.

2)One Piece - anime about pirates. a rubber kid named Monkey searched for a hidden pirate treasure.

I have only seen 2 episodes so I do not have an opinion yet, but i did here a guy from Japan saw it was his favorite aniime so I will give it a chance.

3)Samurai Champloo - samurais who quest and kill people.

OK I really don't know because I have only seen the first episode but it seems to have the artwork of a movie. it is made by the same people that made one of the Animatrix segments and I have never seen so much blood and body parts go flying than I have in an anime on tv. It was crazy, oh and there is a dj scratching a record for background music. This show has potential.

4)Fullmetal Alchemist - two brothers seek to restore their bodies while using alchemy to aide them in their quest.

This is not new and has recently reached it's halfway mark at 26 episodes and will return in the fall to finish it up, but i thought I would mention it because it is one of the better animes i have come across in quite a while and would recommend viewing it if the choice is given.

the last episodes

this past friday saw the end of not one but 2 Gene Roddenbery tv series. The first was Andromeda. This show was not very good and often times did not makes sense even if you watched even minute of the episode. There were plots but it was not solid presentations. Interesting characters but it was a far cry from Star Trek. which leads me to the end of Enterprise.

The last episode was a self contained story. it was not the usual 2 hr or 2 part ending that all Star Trek series seem to have. It has guest character of Riker and Troi from NextGen. Riker plays out the final days of the Enterprise NX-01 before it is decommissioned. He is looking for a solution for his current dilema by playing various characters in a holodeck simulation. This is supposed to take place during one of the episodes of Next Gen's final season, but it is obvious that the actors have aged quite a bit since then. But anyway back to the point, this was not too great of an ending either but I guess it was a little rushed so this was the best they could come up with.

Both series started with good intentions but both had trouble keeping an audience. It just surprised me that somehow they would both come to an end on the same night, right after one another on different stations. Honestly I don't think i will miss either one of them. This just clears the way for hopefully more developed and thought out shows to take their place. OK how am I kidding, it ain't easier to make a successful Sci-fi show so I will not be holding my breath for a good new show anytime soon.

things I have learned about other countries

New Zealand:
1)Most of the time the kids run around without shoes on, they even go to school that way.

2)Erasers are called rubbers. Seeing as how that brings to mind a completely different image to mind here in the states, that could lead to an amusing misunderstanding.

Japan:
1)They put some form of mayonaise on their pizzas. I'm not sure what kind, but I do know that is it different than ours. I'll have to try this when I get the chance.

2)A driver's license costs approximately $3000. That sounds like an awful lot to me but I think that there is some kind of school cost that is included in that.

songs in my head

System of a Down - B.Y.O.B.
A Perfect Circle - Gimme Gimme Gimme
Supergrass - Alright
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc

My niece

This is the picture I made for my mom on Mother's day. I even framed it because I knew if I didn't she never would get around to it.

Man with a plan

This is one of the largest picture I have ever made. It is not finished yet but I can't stand back far enough to see it right so I took a picture and thought I would share. The thing about it is that the room where the stuff it does not exist. All the object do, except they are not where near each other in the house. I don't think it is half bad for having to fill in the missing details. I'm sure some of you will recognize the chair.

It is 24in by 72in, or 2x6.

Actually now that i look at it it is a little fucked up but it all depends on whether or not i have the time or the desire to fix it.

Surgery

It looks like I will have my surgery next Wednesday May18th. Should not take too long. Go in the morning be home by afternoon. I was told that I should not drive for the next few days afterward. How geeky is it that the first thing I thought when I heard this was that I might miss the premeire of Star Wars on the 19th. I mean I already know the story but to see it on the big screen. After that I will have a follow up 2 weeks later and that should be it. Done with the poking, the prodding and the starving for various procedures.

Mario Golf

While babysitting my niece this past weekend, I discovered something I have been missing, video games on a console. There was MarioKart, which I passed up this trip in favor of games I had not played before. I played StarFox for 6 hrs straight before I found out that I was only 25% through it and saving was not an option. But the one that held my attention that most was Mario Golf. After one tournament of 18 holes I had a good grasp on the mechanics of it and using my skills from Outlaw Golf I quickly racked up the trophies. It is a game I would definately need if I had a GameCube. It would have been awesome if I would have had some one else to play with. It is still a little too complicated for Kaylen.

Other things that happened:
-Saw my mom in the hospital a few times. Her recovery and reintroduction to food will take a while.
-Saw my sister's dead shriveled up turtle. Lookup like a mummy in the shell.
-Used my animal magnetism on their 3 cats.
-Drew a large picture of my niece for my mom for mother's day.

Dust Bunnies

After working for quite some time on the picture in the previous post, my pc shat itself and I got a blue screen. I thought nothing of it and cursed at it for losing my work and then restarted and continued on my way. The next day it happened twice, only a few minutes apart. I noticed my file was getting quite large so i reduced it and continued on again. That cycle went on for a while. After 6 times and finding no reason for this to be occuring, the event viewer was a waste of time to look at by the way, I turned my pc off and let it rest. Durinf this time I stumbled across the idea to look inside the case. So I did and what did I find but several nests of dust bunnies. I said to myself "Goddamn it Loch Ness Monster". And proceed to evict them from my box. These little bastard gremlins must have been the cause since I have not had a reoccurance since.

And here is a picture of there eviscerated floppy dust bunny bodies.

it's sad when this is a highlight of my day

Brain Worms

I really don't know what to call this. When asked all I could do was produce a picture of the work in progress. All I can say is that it is a head that is split open to show what is inside. There is no term that can sum that up that I know of. I have put the most hours into this picture that any other project I have made in photoshop that includes the swapping of heads on people's bodies. I had to print it on 4 sheets of paper because it ended up being 13in x 20in.

Why did I never think of this?

Sunday, May 01, 2005

It never ends

I had my follow up appt. I asked once again if I had any "belly pain". To me using that term makes me feel like I am 5, but they continue to use it like that is that best way make me understand. I was also asked if I had any more blood down below. Dude, you were up my ass with a camera and saw that I was healed. The doctors continue to act like these problems occurs every other day. These were both short inconviences and I have not seen any signs of them again since. Let it go people.

Is it obvious that I grow weary of this whole thing?

I also found out that I have too many gall stones to count and that it would be in my best interest to have my gall bladder taken out. The doctor told me that there is no doubt that there will be an encore performance at possibly anytime. So I get to sign myself up for some elective surgery. After that I should be a little more streamlined and not have anymore complications.

Just think, if blood had not decided to exit my body through my ass, none of these other events would have transpired for at least a few more months, possible years.
