I woke up with a headache today. One that was a persistant fucker. One which 4 excedrin could only tranquilize but not kill.

How I spent my Sunday night
So after a small amount of difficulty of finding her house, I picked up Ess and we were off to the drive-in in Dillsburg. I had never been there and she had never been to a drive-in so it was a new experience all around.
Upon arrival, it was like rolling into the past. This was the classic drive set up. Speaker boxes on poles positioned so that each car had it's own. They were pumping 50's music from a sock hop through them which made up both laugh more and more with each successive song played.
Valiant was the first movie. This was just a filler to keep the animators busy it seemed to us. Pigeons during WWII voiced my british actors, nuff said. Then the intermission began. This just added to the nostalgic feel since the cartoon countdown looked like it belonged with rocky and bullwinkle and underdog. The sexual innuendos were everywhere. After they were over Skeleton Key played. Not an awesome movie but it did keep up guessing for most of it. Oh and Kate Hudson looks like a monkey, a hot monkey. It was fun though and I'm sure we will make a return trip at some point.
After that, we headed back toward the east shore, because I forgot I had directions, in a very exploratoy fashion. We eventually got back and made a stop at Wal-mart to putz around for a while since neither of us wanted to go home. We discussed the stunning career and assets of Angelina Jolie while rummaging through the dump bin DVDs.
After we were done there we drove some more and ended up driving back our old HS. Nothing has changed, it looks very much the same as before. We went on to park next to a cemetary which we then entered on foot.
We wandered around while she insisted she could find a passage to a park which we eventually did find only after we got back in my car. Anyway it was getting very late and both of us seemed to be seeing things for various reasons. We had been in there for well over an hour when we noticed a house which we had to have walked past to get where we were. Neither of us had seen it until this point. We then came upon an open grave, which is freaky at 3 am. She got giddy, I had inappropriate thoughts but did not act on them.
I dropped her off at her house and we called it a night. I did not get home til 4 and I have to say I had a great time. First time in a long time. Hopefully I'll get to see her again soon.

my mother the watchdog
Since my mom only works a few hours a day now that she is getting her treatment which make her tired she is home all the time. This means that she watches all my comings and going. She notes what time I wake up and whether or not I have applied to any jobs or not, basically anything I do or do not do during the day. When my dad gets home she reports all the intel she has gathered. There is no need for this, seriously.

First Day
sorry no, not referring to me and a job. What I am talking about is my niece's first day of kindergarden. She is ever so excited and looks forward to going back. She goes for the full day, from 8am to about 230pm. That is a long day for a 5 yr old. Okay that is it.
Restless Sleep
Ever since working as an order selector I have had trouble sleeping. Not every night, but pretty close. When I dream some aspect of that job manages to manifest itself there. I have even gotten up at night in a sleepy haze to rearrange stuff in my room so as to conform to a presentable stack of objects. It takes me a minute or two to get back to my senses and ask myself "what the fuck am i doing?" and then go back to sleep. For only working there for 10 days, meaning from date of hire to voluntarily quitting, that job has apparently had a profound effect on my subconscious. I'm glad that I got out when I did because who knows how bad it would have got. Hopefully this traumaic experience will fade quickly so that I can got back to having uninterrupted sleep once again, and only the occasional nocturnal episodes of unusual behavior.

God damn it
Everytime a show is on, i mean a show i really want to watch which at this point is very few, not the crap i settle on or the stuff i have already seen, some way some how like clockwork i get interrupted. Either by my mom who wants me to move something, my niece who wants to play some game that takes her 10 minutes to explain because the way she talks sounds like porky pig stuttering or my dad telling me to do something i have no interest in doing. Why can they not schedule these things at different times. Seriously, have they figured out the shows i watch and deliberately plotted against me to get some rise out of me. I won't show it of course but it's working whether intentionally or not.
ADDITIONAL: also somehow whenever i am in my room and think to myself that i need to go the bathroom, i hear the door close as someone else has beaten me to it. perhaps i am picking up their brainwaves maybe not but it happens to many times for it to be a coincidence.

Wing
So I was playing with my niece outside the other day and found this. I think it is a dragonfly wing but I am not sure. There were no other parts to help me ID it. Just a lone wing laying outside. There may be an insect flying around without a wing, going in circles cuz I have it's missing appendage. If it is spotted send it my way.

Perry Bible Fellowship
A girl sent me this link to a set of very funny comic strips. Thought I would share. Perry Bible Fellowship
I think the snails riding the sloth is my favorite. That and the bunny with the girl in a skirt.

random stuff
So ended up not going to the Ren Faire. As the time got closer I just did not feel like going. Same shite with different actors just about every year.
Mostly I just putzed around on my PC today. Fixed my flaky internet connection hopefully. Last night it seemed I was getting disconnected everytime I turned around.
My dad is already up my ass about getting a job. This coming week is gonna suck because he has off and my mom will be around too so I will be getting to from both of them. Makes me wish I had kept my other job for another week, almost.
And after 12 eps of Paranioa Agent it still does not make sense. Only 1 to go. It's gotta come to some conclusion right?

Well that did not last long
After 10 days of being officially employed, I am now jobless once again. I went in and picked up my paycheck and quit immediately after that. It was just too much work for what it was worth. I have blisters on my feet and my hands still hurt from work 2 days ago. This is a trama I do not need to suject myself to.
On the way home I plowed right into a butterfly and when I got home I looked and saw it mangled in my grill. I pulled it out and it flew away. Maybe it is a sign. Like I released my free spirit from the tyranny of warehouse work or something like that.

Went out to a bar
While putzing around online one day I can across this girl. Not only does she have red hair but she also has a british accent. That is a double score in my book.
She sent out an invite to some people to go see some bands at a local bar. I could not pass up the chance to meet this girl. So i went and saw two bands, Herbie and BoBim. BoBim is really cool and it was obviously the crowd favorite. After they were done playing and I had enough beer in me and I finally went up and introduced myself to her, who from up to this point only knew my picture. We exchanged the casual set of hellos and that was about it really. She seemed more interested in talking to the other people she knew than me. No biggie, what the hell could we possibly have talked about. By some stroke of luck some guy walked in that works with me at C&S. We talked for a few minutes about how bad the job is.
After I we were done talking I found my way back to this girl and told her it was nice meeting her but I was going to head out. She said it was nice to meet me, meh. I plan to accompany her to the Pen Ren this Saturday. Maybe we will exchange more than a few words.
Ok let me set this straight. There is not change for a relationship if any of you were thinking it. Like I said I could not pass up this oppurtunity to meet a girl like her. I can not even fathom the statistics involved here. Beginning in September she starts some documentary she is making and that goes into October. From that point on she is going to Iceland and then back to London where she lives. I'm sure I can continue to talk to her online but I'll have to find someone else to spend time with.

The perfect setup
I went to the Hershey Library Book Sale today and it was weird the events that took place, like I had planned then out or something.
I arrived around 2pm and drove around looking for a space to park in. Being that it was a Saturday and the sale was going on, there were none. So i went and parked at the high school right next door whose parking lot was not very far from the library. I was the only one to see this parking lot I guess. I was the only one in it.
The I wandered around thousands of books and found 2. Two books what the fuck is that. I've never heard of such a thing at a book sale before. But alas I settled on these 2, bought them and walked out. Just then the fire alarm sounded and I saw that they had a few tables set up outside. Stupid move on their part. I looked at these and found a few while the people inside the library came out seeing as how the alarm was of the fire variety.
Rather than having to try to explain that I had already bought these 2 books even though I had no receipt or bag, and I would like to purchase these others, I just took my extra few books I found and walked back to my car. That's right I stole them. Whatever, I just started walking and did not look back. Got in my car and left.
I think this is the perfect setup because well somehow I timed it so that as I was exiting, I mean the split second I crossed the threshold the fire alarm went off. Then in the confusion of people exiting the library I could have casually walked off this the books I had found. Got in my car and no one could have blocked the only exit from the library to confront me since I had parked in a separate parking lot altogether that exited onto a completely different street. To me it seems like an orchestrated plan or perhaps I have watched too many overly involved heist movies.

First week in review
After 4 consecutive days of work I have been reduced to walking like an old man. I fall asleep about an hour after I get home and wake up in time to go to bed for the next day. My muscles are sore and I have several big bruises to show for my work.
Thursday was the first day that they actually started tracking our picking numbers. I picked 74 boxes per hour. Ideally they want you pickin at a rate of 200 per hour. I have a long way to go. Part of my below average score could be attributed to the fact that I have been quite lazy for so long and I have to reaclimate my body to physical activity. These 2 days off have done my body good. I still hurt in places but I will have enough energy to get through the next 2 days.
I sweat so much that I drink at least 2 gallons of water over my 10 hr shift. I was close to 12hrs on Thursday. I still have not master the pallet jack and have tried to pull some stupid shit in the warehouse and have not succeeded. I also managed to rip a bag of dog food out of the bottom of a 6 ft stack on a skid. To remedy this instead of restacking everything, I held it in place and plastic wrapped it back on. Saved me a lot of time. I also found out you can not make a U turn in one of the aisle with 2 full pallets on your jack. I got into the situation that Austin Powers did when he tried to turn around in the small hallway in the first movie.
My parents are happy I have a job but they have elluded to totally understanding if I decided to quit as soon as I found something else.
I have to wake up at 6am in order to be at work by 7am or earlier. Then do 10hrs of picking and packing boxes in a hot warehouse. It's not fun but it gives me money to spend.

Day 2
While waiting for training to begin today, some how a bird flew into the window near me and knocked it's ass out. It recovered shorly afterward and flew off to kamikaze other things I'm sure.
There was more paperwork in the morning, mostly how to read the numbers to figure out what to pick up. Then there was pallet jack training in the afternoon. I was not the worst at this, but I was not good either. I was like second worse. The worst guy was off making his own course and being lead by the instructor. I did not do that but I did manage to kill most of the cones. The day ended with getting to ride the jack all over the warehouse. I lost track of time and was the last one back to the training center. They actually had to page for me to come back.
This place was so hot there was a rainforest in my pants for most of the day. Shorts will definately have to be the way to go.
Somehow a bat got in and was flying in circles trying to get out.
I have yet to pick stuff out for the storage areas, but that is coming and I think it will be rather sweaty and possibly smelly by the time I am done for the day.

Borientation
So my first day at the warehouse was today. We are easing into the job so we started with a tour of the warehouse. People were flying around on pallet jacks trailing mountains of boxes to their locations. It looks like orchestrated chaos. This is one of the biggest building I have ever been in. I could barely see the other end of the building from the inside.
Today was a satefty and introduction day. We watched videoes from the mid 80s that had horrible sound distortion and a sexual harrasment video where a guy was talking about how big his banana was. In addition to that we did a mountain of paperwork in order to get everything in motion in order to get a paycheck next week.
Apparently you are not allowed to wear a shirt that says "Show me your tits", but one refering to Hooters or a Big Pecker is okay.
We were handed bags of watermelon jolly ranchers to snack on throughout the day. The guy next to me said he wished they were sour apple. According to Dane Cook because of his flavor choice he should be stabbed in the jaw. So for the rest of the day all I could think was that that guy should be stabbed in the jaw.
From the looks of it there is no way I will not lose weight. My metabolism will sky rocket working 4-10hr days. I'll have to give an update when my real first day of order selecting happens.
